Review

Situated on the corner of Cotham Hill & Whiteladies Road, is the The Penny Farthing. Once the site of an old bank, there is consequently a convenient ATM on the corner of the building! The Penny Farthing is a lovely local pub (sadly, you don’t get many on the trendy bar-infested Whiteladies Road), run by Wadsworth. In essence, the focus is on real ales, but with its good selection of ciders on offer, it would be rude not to mention this pub. Its crowd has a strong local following, including a mix of students as well as the older generation. With two big screens, this is a great venue to catch the sport. Simple bar food is available, alongside the obligatory nibbles such as lime and chilli nuts. There is also a small, heated seating area outside, which is perfect for enjoying a pint in the summer sunshine.
