Review:

Next on my list at The Portcullis cider festival was to go down the cider route and have something with a bit more bite. After being impressed previously by Millwhites, with their Rioja Cask in particular, I was keen to see if all of their ciders were that good and scrumpified. The day was still only young, but how i yearned for a nice pint of farmhouse cider. It would just help my pre-birthday celebrations go from good to great.

This cider has a very sweet and fruity start, but then the tanginess kicks in with a mild bit of acidity and a slightly sour twang after taste. This is a marginally more toned down version of say their Rioja Cask or Scrumpy, but equally tasty at the same time. This was another good cider from the guys at Millwhites and safe to say it satisfied my scrumpy needs.

Update 26/01/13 – Smooth, easy drinking and has a light acidic bite initially, with a sour lightly drier twang to follow. The aftertaste has a bit of an odd taste but is pleasant. Not my favourite Millwhites but drinkable.

Overall Rating: 7/10
