Now I’m not new or anything to Olivers cider, but it is a first for me to get in a review on their perry. As I have heard so many good things about their perry, then it would be a crime not to have tried and reviewed it. This perry is single variety which is made from the rock perry pear grown on Olivers orchard. Single variety perries in my opinion seem to work a lot better than a single variety cider, but maybe that’s because I have yet to find a truly bad one yet for perry. The Blakeney Red one is a great variety, so how will this match up to the likes of this?

This is very interesting and quite sublime perry. It starts off with a gorgeous smooth pear taste, but then the dry after taste kicks in. The thing with this perry is the more you drink it, then the drier your mouth becomes. What was a subtle dryness to begin with, has ended up so dry it had completely dried out my mouth by the end of the pint. For some, it could be too much if dryness is not your thing, but for me it was just great. Top notch perry and will certainly be looking out for again.
