For my 2nd cider at the Euston Cider Tap, I opted for the Sandford Orchards Devon Mist. I wanted to try a good variety of cider that night, so next on my list was to try the chilled and lighter end of the spectrum and this seemed like the perfect one to choose.

Drinking this cider is like a mixture between eating a beautiful fresh crisp apple and tucking into a tasty apple pie that your grandma would make. There was such a natural apple taste to it and certainly refreshing with the light carbonation going on, but there was also moderate tannins and a fairly good lingering taste to keep you on your toes. I can see this being a hit in the summer when chilled; it would be exactly what you need to refresh and excite your taste buds on a hot summer’s day.

I’d have to say this is a really nice cider to get people converted into drinking cider more regularly (away from the likes of wine or sweeter drinks) and a stepping stone towards more adventurous ciders, if that is your thing. However, I would say it is too sweet for me to drink too often, but I can see the appeal for the drink and why it seemed so popular whilst I was at the Cider Tap. If you like your ciders slightly sweeter, then this is one you must try.

Update 16/08/12: Still as good as before, but also slightly still on the sweet side.

Would I buy this again?: Yes, but not as a first choice.

Overall Rating: 7/10
