This is another one that has been sat on the cider shelf for far too long, so it is time to set this one free and see if the Somerset Glory can make a great shine over my life!

With the exception of the Somerset Glory, I can’t really think of any other ciders made by Fosseway. Maybe they do something else too, but it hasn’t come under my radar yet. Though there’s nothing wrong with concentrating on making one good product, rather than make 5 average ones.

The smell coming from it is of beautiful sweet apples and a rather decent one at that. The taste is like a sweet green apple taste, which is swiftly followed by lots of dryness and some bitterness and mild tannins. It’s a cider that definitely tries to dry out your mouth and so nearly succeeds. I’m glad to say the carbonation is just sitting in the background and knowing its place. I hate it when it tries to take over. I was hoping this cider had a bit more excitement to the end of it, but it didn’t quite find that extra gear it needed to be up near the top of my list.

Would I buy this again?: Yes
Overall Rating: 7.5/10
