I’m still currently on holiday in Tunisia and I am now onto my 3rd bottle of cider that was taken on holiday with me. Yes I know some people see that as a bad thing, but I find it necessary to take some of life’s luxuries when travelling to make it a home from home. This time I am on the Abrahalls cider, which is made by Celtic Marches. They appear to make liqueurs too and by the sounds of it they are finally branching out more into the mainstream. Apparently their history goes back around 100 years in the drinks business, but before my friend Jon gave me this cider, then I had heard nothing about them at all. Possibly they are known more just in their local area at present?

I’m over half way through my holiday to Tunisia now and surprisingly have been very restrained in my cider drinking. This is only my 2nd bottle I have had in just under a week, which is probably the lowest amount of cider I have drank in years. Don’t worry though, it has not been through choice, but I have just been abusing the all-inclusive too much!

So today is apple day, I’m all the way in a hot and humid Tunisia and I luckily happened to have packed a few ciders for the occasion to celebrate. Well, I can’t go too long without having a decent cider, so I have packed 4 for my 10 day trip.

This is another cider I recently got on my trip to the Bristol Cider Shop, which was recommended by them to try out. Being the nice person I am, I duly obliged and I’ve finally got round to drinking this one. From not reviewing a Perry’s at all, to 2 in just over a week is pretty good going! This is one of the few of their varieties I have not actually seen sold elsewhere before. You can usually find Perry’s in some supermarkets or even some restaurants, but surprisingly this one hasn’t featured in my experience. As with all of their ciders, this was made on their farm in Dowlish Wake and has been maturing for at least 6 months before it has been let loose on the public.
