So another Sunday comes around and that means another roast dinner has to be had. This week my other half has decided to do the cooking and surprisingly a friend brought round a decent bottle of cider bubbly.

Burrow Hill has impressed me greatly with the wide range of quality products they make. This ranges from the quality cider to their famous cider brandy. This is the first time however that I have sampled their bottle fermented cider, which apparently is bottled and matured for a year before it is sold.

This has a beautiful apple aroma and poured very bubbly, like you would experience from a champagne. The taste is very crisp, dry and has a slightly sharp finish. It has a decent rustic appley taste but it’s a little too dry for me to have too often. This could appeal to a dry wine drinker that wants to get into cider. It’s not necessarily a wine replacement, but a good middle ground.

Would I buy this again?: Yes in small doses
Overall Rating: 8/10
