As it’s Friday and one of my locals wanted a new cider, I was only too glad to visit the Bristol Cider Shop with them to help them on their way. After the huge success of the Black Dragon and Tumpy Ground previously, I thought I’d try something different this time. I went for the Burrow Hill Medium as something that’s fairly easy on the palate but different at the same time.

Oliver’s Scrumpy Cider Review

I’m now onto my final Oliver’s cider on draught, from my recent trip to Herefordshire, which is called Scrumpy Cider. This from my knowledge is very similar to their Medium draught cider, but it has been left to be naturally cloudy and not racked off to make the cider clearer.

My 2nd perry of the evening (after the Oliver’s Medium Perry) is the Single-Variety Thorn Perry by Gregg’s Pit. Perry is what is their bread and butter is, so I have high hopes they can deliver. I have my fingers crossed it can!

I thought I’d give the ciders a miss tonight. I know, I know it’s a shocking thing to do, but at least I am not off the fermented fruit completely, as I will be going for a few perries. First up is the Medium Perry from Oliver’s, which was bought straight from the farm on draught.

The 2nd cider of the night is yet again a Herefordshire one, but this time from Gregg’s Pit and their Browns Apple, Kingston Black & Sweet Coppin Cider. After the resounding success of their Dabinett, Kingston Black & Yarlington Mill (2011) Cider, I have yet again got high hopes for this one.
