We had a good first night here and have just been taking in the sea air and a stroll round Bude today. I had a bit of a brain freeze while out there, but I’m back to the warmth of the cottage now and cracking open the first cider of the evening. Up now is the Dick Willow’s ‘Dicky Meadows’ Medium/Dry Cider.

This is another cider from my end of year trip to Dick Willow’s and is a mix of 1/3 sweet and 2/3 dry of their ‘Dicky Meadows’ cider. It poured a dull orange colour and smelt slightly acidic and like a proper farmhouse cider!

The taste hits your throat slightly with the acidity right away, but is fairly fruity and not overpowering. It’s fairly sour, there’s a mild bitterness and moderate tannins. It feels a fair bit lighter than their oaked cider and I do miss the oaky flavour too. It’s certainly my type of cider and is scrumptious. I’d possibly try their dry on its own next time, but it’s worth trying if you like a proper Somerset cider.

Would I buy this again?: Yes
