Tickets: N/A for the beer/cider festival. If you wish to use the train lines, it is £10 for Friday and £15 on both the Saturday or Sunday.

Food: Our popular BBQ will once again be in action this time in the shed at Tunbridge Wells West over all three days starting at around 8am on the Saturday and Sunday for early morning Bacon Rolls and Soft Drinks. From around 11am on the Friday and 10am Saturday and Sunday the locally produced Burgers and Sausags will go on sale. The BBQ will be in action until late evening, further food outlets are located at Eridge and Groombridge Stations, the latter where we shall be offering hot takeaway meals throughout the Saturday and Sunday afternoons – chilli con carne, lasagne and curry subject to availability.

Entertainment: There will be the Autumn Diesel Gala over the 3 days. The information is as follows:

Autumn Diesel Gala – Featuring visiting Class 31 31206!

Following our highly successful Summer Diesel Gala held in August we’ve decided to give you another three days of Heritage Diesel action (plus a little Industrial Steam on the Sunday) over our 5 1/4 mile line between Tunbridge Wells West and Eridge.

Locomotive Line Up:

  • Class 31 31206 – Visiting from the Rushden Transport Museum
  • Class 37 37254 ‘Driver Robin Prince MBE’ – Fresh into Intercity Swallow Livery
  • Class 73 E6047 (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Class 33 33063 ‘R.J.Mitchell’ (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Class 10 D3489 ‘Colonel Tomline’ – A rare appearance on a passenger service (Saturday and Sunday only)
  • Class 207 DEMU 1317 – Not running under it’s own power due to Siezed Turbo which is currently under repair. Will be used as Hauled Stock only.
  • Steam Locomotive RSH No.62 ‘Ugly’ (Sunday only)


Friday 18th October – ‘English Electric Day’ will see Class 31 31206 and Class 37 37254 in service hauling trains between Tunbridge Wells West and Eridge.

The evening Beerex will be hauled uphill by Class 31 31206 with Class 37 37254 on the downhill end. Services will end approximately 2233.

Saturday 19th October – Our most intense timetable we’ve ever operated will be in action with departures from Tunbridge Wells West each hour at XX20 with an additional shuttle service to Groombridge. The main two service sets will be operated by Class 31 31206, Class 37 37254 and Class 33 33063 alternating at Eridge The additional shuttle service to Groombridge will be operated by Class 73 E6047 and also Class 10 D3489 will be hauling Class 207 DEMU 1317.

The evening 6 Coach Beerex will be hauled uphill by Class 33 33063 and Class 31 31206 with Class 37 37254 and Class 73 E6047 on the downhill end. Services will end approximately 2233.

Sunday 20th October – We shall be operating another intensive service using Classes 31, 37, 33, 73 and 10 however the shuttle service will be operated by one of our resident Steam Locomotives with hauled stock to enable this to happen however the first down shuttle service and the last up shuttle service will be hauled by Class 10 D3489 ‘Colonel Tomline’.

Services will end approximately 1934.
