3rd May – Somerset Cider & Cheese Fayre 2015 (Compton Martin, Bristol) Preview

Entry Price/Session times:

Sun 3rd May: 12pm-Dusk (£3 daytime session/£9 evening session)

Tickets: Daytime session is pay on the door. Evening session tickets are available from the pub, call 01761 221 284 or email info@ringobellscomptonmartin.co.uk

Ciders/Perries: Over 20 real farmhouse ciders will be available. Currently the following cider makers will be attending:

Rich’s, Honey & Daughter Midford, Twisted, Stone’s Bittersweet, Mad Apple, Bennett’s Chestnut Farm, Orchard Pig, Millwhites, Pennard Organic, Copse House Cider, Tricky, Crossman’s & 3 more from Dorset.

There will also be a chance to taste and rate your favourite ciders.

Food: Plenty of cheese will be available, which will include artisan cheese makers such as Keen’s, who have been making cheddar since 1892 and Longmans. Hog Roast & BBQ, other local produce & Yeo Valley Ice Cream. There will also be the chance to taste and rate your favourite cheeses.

Entertainment: The following entertainment will be available:


• Live music from Whinlatter, Squeeze Fiddle Pluck & New Orleans Dixie Band.
• The Mendip Morris Men
• Vintage Tractors
• Raffle
• Tug-O-War – local villages to compete on the day
• ‘Old Mucker’ Rob Collins will be running “Really Wild Adventures” with Archery, Air Rifle Range, Birds of Prey, Arrow Laser Shot
• Bouncy Castle & Traditional Games – Wheel Barrow Racing and Welly Wanging
• Pop-up photographic studio with “Yokel Heroes” theme! Dress up in smocks and props. Pitchforks provided!


As the sun goes down, to kickstart a great night of entertainment, local band Furious Maria will play from 7.30pm, followed by two new bands that are hotly tipped as breakthrough acts for 2015 who will both be performing, live.
BBC Radio 1 are championing them both. They are the incredible SUNSET SONS and PORT ISLA.
