Finding a decent pub so close to Broadmead has been quite a challenge. However, in discovering The Bank Tavern, this mission has now been completed! It is essentially a pre-clubbing venue for most on Friday/Saturday, with a host of DJs playing until the early hours. Their roast dinners are really good on a Sunday too! Well worth a visit. A true hidden gem in the heart of Kingsdown. This is a small and cosy pub, but still has the charm of a drinking hole from back in the day. At around £2.10 per pint, it still has the prices from back then too! This is quickly becoming one of my favourite locals. The bizarre thing about this place is the outside toilets with the amazing mural all over it. Not one I want to brave on this cold winter nights! Read the rest of this entry »

Review

Before 2009, this was a pretty uneventful wine bar that never really caught my imagination. However, since then it has been revived and transformed into one of the premier dedicated cider venues in Bristol. The Bristol Cider House has a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy a lovely cider, with a choice of around 15-20 available on draught/bottles. Every visit there is like going to a mini cider festival. Read the rest of this entry »
