It’s been a while folks, but thankfully I have got a little time on my hands to get down to reviewing some cider again. In the past few weeks I received a pleasant surprise in the post of 2 brand spanking new ciders from Hogan’s. These were the Killer Sharp cider and a keeved cider called French Revelation. Up first today is the Killer Sharp cider.

We have finished the cider festival for the evening and time for a night round a friends with good food and good cider. Up tonight is the Hogan’s Panking Pole cider.

Hogans Draught (Sparkling) Cider Review

ABV: 4.5%
Taste: Medium/Sweet
Served: Chilled pint
Smell: Fruity
Colour: Light golden
Clarity: Clear
Carbonation: Sparkling

Review:

Whilst stumbling through the heart of Clifton one weekend, I happened to come across a Hogans cider on draught at The Clifton pub. Hogans are the only cider producer I have heard of from Warwickshire, though they bring in all their apples from Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire. Thankfully they haven’t abandoned the art of making cider and they are making this in the traditional way, which is always great to see.
