Review

Located at the bottom of Cheltenham Road we have the Pipe and Slippers. You step into the place and it has a real chilled feel about it with its array of leather chairs and wooden décor that gives it a homely feel. The only problem with the place is that does become popular at the weekend, which means it can get too packed. It does serve a good pint of cider (Orchard Pig being my favourite there) and I would keep coming back for that alone. Read the rest of this entry »

Review

Some may say this is a bit of an old mans pub and I guess they maybe right. Though I’d rather it was that, than a poncy soulless chain! This is really traditional and nothing shows this better than the rolls on offer. E.g proper chunks/slabs of cheddar with what must be half an onion! There’s also a small beer garden, pool, foosball and some live music, all in the great location at the arches on Gloucester Road. Read the rest of this entry »
